Using Fashion as Inspiration to Decorate Your Home

I fell in love love love with this dress from Anthropologie. So I used it as inspiration to decorate my bedroom…

I started with a navy matelasse duvet cover from Pottery Barn. I really like the fact that it is a solid color because I’m one who gets bored with my bedding so changing up the throw pillows is an inexpensive way to do that.

I was super pumped to add in the blush color. I found it on Joss and Main with this side chair and not only was the color perfect but the pattern added some interest as well.

This one took me a while because I really wanted to add a vintage piece for interest and character but also to break up the monotony of mass production. I ended up finding it at the Saint Vincent DePaul thrift store for $20 including the matching chair. A coat of paint was what it really needed and I decided on using the blush color as a base but I deepened it to a coral to add some depth to the room. I layered it on top with a mint lamp from Home Goods and covered the chair in a fabric piece from JoAnn Fabrics using my staple gun.

This was an added as a solution for my costume jewelry habit. Found the framed cork board at an estate sale and covered it with fabric from JoAnn.

My bedroom is still a work in progress. I still need something for above my bed and also my dresser. But the best interiors come together over time and also as you collect items from various adventures. I have quite a few photos on my photo stream waiting to be framed so maybe I’ll be on to that next...
